VidaAfrolatina is continually creating content for our website and social media platforms in Spanish, Portuguese and English. We also host virtual events via Zoom with Spanish speakers and Portuguese speakers. Our most urgent need is experienced translators for written translations (Spanish-English, Portuguese-English and Spanish-Portuguese). We also seek volunteers to transcribe recorded virtual events and translate them (same language pairs). Please reach out to us. We are excited to connect with you.

About VidaAfrolatina

Location:

Mission Statement

VidaAfrolatina creates a world where Black women and girls are free to flourish because safety and wellness are their everyday reality. We do this by connecting diverse resources, including philanthropic funding and capacity support, with Black women’s groups in Latin America, with a specific focus on organizations that provide healing services for sexual violence survivors and that create and lead systemic change to end sexual violence.

Description

VidaAfrolatina is an international women's fund that mobilizes resources and connects them with Black and Afro-descendant women's organizations in Latin America. We have a participatory grant making model through which our potential grantee partners -- women with lived experience who understand the issues best -- guide funding decisions. The groups we fund provide culturally relevant healing services in their local communities and work to create systemic change to end sexual violence.
