Community Action Team ( CAT )- A group of local individuals (like you!) with a vested interest in economic development, literacy, and a passion for children!
The CAT is responsible for three main tasks: Public Relations, Registrations, & Fundraising Opportunities in its own community. Each CAT differs in composition in every county but as a rule, five to ten members make up the core. Naturally, the more diverse the CAT , the more successful getting the message out, registering children, and gathering support for the program. Ferst Readers is in seven states and has over 100 active teams who are changing the future of their communities one child and one book at a time!
