Assist at any of the Second Harvest Food Bank Distributions in Clark, Champaign or Logan County.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs - 40lbs.
Gloves and 3-ply or N95 masks must be worn. They will be provided if you don't have your own.
Drive-thru distribution tasks: Pallets are placed on the ground. Each person will be assigned 1-2 pallets.
As the cars drive up, place the designated quantity of items into the car.
Walk-up Mobile Pantry Distribution Tasks: Someone will check individuals in with our I-pad unit prior to the beginning of the distribution. Tables are placed in a row on both sides of the truck. The SHFB staff will unload items from the truck. Volunteers and SHFB staff will place items on each table. Each volunteer will be assigned to a table and instructions will be given on how much of each item can be distributed. Individuals will shop from the tables and choose which items they would like to have. After distribution, tables, extra product, cardboard, and trash are loaded onto the truck and returned to SHFB, leaving the space as clean, if not cleaner, as when we arrived.

This collection of over 205 food banks and food rescue organizations nationwide get food to hungry children and families who need it most. Feeding America is the nation's largest non-governmental, domestic hunger relief organization. The Second Harvest Food Bank is one of the 12 operations that comprise the Ohio Association of Foodbanks. This group lobbies within the state and brings Ohio grown fresh produce to our doors that would have otherwise been plowed under at the end of the growing season through the Ohio Agricultural Surplus Production Alliance. Additionally the egg farmers have made a large donation annually at Easter and the pork farmers are now donating! Together we represent Ohio's largest charitable response to hunger!

CCSWO provides a variety of programs and services to those in need in the Southwestern Ohio region, including the Su Casa Hispanic Center, mental health counseling, Senior Corps, the Caregivers Assistance Network, parenting education, refugee services, and the Second Harvest Food Pantry. All are affiliated with Catholic Charities USA.

- Interested? We need at least 24 hours notice to schedule. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of the distribution so that you are early to receive instructions. Please plan to stay 15-30 minutes after the posted end time for clean up.
