Many of our community food pantries and distributions have had to close recently due to other COVID-19 challenges - reduced volunteers, loss of a location, or other concerns. Central California Food Bank is working around the clock to strategize new and modified food distribution methods that adhere to social distancing best practices and ensure public safety.
We are looking for volunteers to help at potential food distributions in Fresno, Madera, Kings, or Tulare Counties.
Shifts may take place outdoors, most often on the sidewalk or a parking lot, and to further protect the health of volunteers and participants we are:
Asking participants to keep a sizable distance from one another while in line.
Pre-bagging groceries for participants to minimize contact between participants and volunteers.
Encouraging all other best practices: cleaning surfaces regularly, providing hand sanitizer, and wearing gloves.
It’s understandable that there are concerns about volunteering at this point. And individuals should consider their own health and well-being before deciding whether to volunteer.
To address the immediate nutritional needs and provide sustainable solutions for the food insecure through the operation of an efficient food acquisition and distribution system, community outreach and public education.
Central California Food Bank partners with over 220 agencies located throughout Fresno, Madera, and Kings Counties to distribute food to families and individuals in need. We are a certified affiliate of Feeding America, the nation's largest charitable hunger-relief organization.
We'll work with your schedule.
