Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that you can do on your own time, at your own pace, out in the community? If you answered yes to any of those questions, we have the perfect opportunity for you! YESS is a Safe Place shelter, and accordingly, we need to check in annually with all the Safe Place locations in the Des Moines metropolitan area. There are over 120 sites we need to monitor before December 31, 2020, and we want your help!

How it works:

  • Apply to be a Safe Place site monitor volunteer
  • Get trained on how to check in on a site
  • Sign up for sites you'll monitor
  • Check in on your sites (roughly 15-20 minutes per site, maybe less)
  • Report your findings back to YESS

You can sign up for as many or as few sites as you'd like (though we recommend a minimum of 5), and as long as you have them check in on by the end of December, you're good to go.
