Do you want to make someone happy when the skies of hospice feel gray?
Altus Hospice is looking for rays of sunshine to provide social visits to patients who would enjoy brightening their day with a little company from you!
Our Volunteer Coordinator, Alice Guzman, welcomes you to reach out and learn more about the comfort and compassion hospice has to offer. No hospice or medical experience is required. We provide a half day training is to all volunteers, with two options for convenience, one during business hours, and a separate training on the 1st Saturday of each month. We also offer TB testing free of charge to all volunteers.
Our volunteers love the flexibility opportunity we offer!
When you begin volunteering with Altus you will be matched to a patient that lives in your area of town (our goal is to never make you drive more than 15 minutes) and is hoping to make a new friend. Our volunteer coordinator matches you with a patient based on interests and personality, and joins you on your first visit (s) to ensure you are comfortable and are serving a patient you will enjoy spending time with!

Description
Our job providing end of life care is a sacred one, one which we view as a privilege. The Altus Hospice staff has a duty to treat each individual under our care, as well as our fellow team members, with the utmost respect, while honoring each individual’s choices and core values. To that end, we will listen intently, respond accordingly and serve humbly.
