Seaside Seabird Sanctuary is currently in need of Avian Care Volunteers. Assist staff with various duties relating to the daily care and monitoring of the nearly 100 permanently disabled birds that reside in the sanctuary’s outdoor display aviaries.
Duties may include diet preparation and feeding, cleaning enclosures and pools, behavioral monitoring, and light maintenance and repair work.
Avian Care volunteers will also regularly be asked questions from sanctuary visitors and guests regarding our resident birds and the sanctuary's work with wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. Volunteers will receive training to be able to answer questions and discuss our resident birds and their wild counterparts.
Requirements to become a Seaside Seabird Sanctuary Hospital Assistant Volunteer are as follows:
* Must be at least 18-years old.
* Must be able to maintain a friendly and professional attitude.
*Certain duties require special training before allowed to perform.
The Seaside Seabird Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of sick and injured wild birds, public education, conservation, and research. The Sanctuary's 1.5-acre property houses a full service avian hospital, outdoor rehabilitation areas, and over 100 permanently injured resident birds on display - ranging from songbirds to seabirds to raptors.

Description
Seaside Seabird Sanctuary, LLC was founded on July 13th, 2016 as a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, treating, and rehabilitating sick and injured wild birds. On September 1st, 2016, Seaside opened up their 1.5 acre full-service avian hospital and sanctuary located in Indian Shores, Florida. Seaside was granted its 501(c)(3) non-profit status three months later on December 15th, 2016. On March 30th, 2017, the Seaside Seabird Sanctuary held its official grand opening.
