ORGANIZATION: FIFTH CORNER ACADEMY

An Elder Mentor (40+ yrs of age) provides support and mentorship to youth (10-24 yrs of age) with high risk factors and low protective factors as upstream prevention of suicide, mental illness, addiction, violence, and incarceration.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Driver's License Needed
  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 45
  • Orientation or Training
  • At least 10 hours per month. 5CA recommends that you and the youth you are mentoring both define and communicate your own time boundaries on your first meeting.
  • To protect you and the youth you serve, you must save all communications, and must have another qualified volunteer (with background check completed) accompany you at all times when physically interacting with youth.
