Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care of Oakland is committed to our mission of "Honoring Life, Offering Hope" to our patients and their families at all stages of the end of life.

Some of our patients are spending the final weeks, days and hours of their lives alone, without family and friends nearby. Although they become part of the Seasons Hospice family, these individuals would benefit from your companionship and supportive presence at the end of their lives. Vigil Volunteers are trained to support patients in their final hours by holding their hand, providing reassurance, placing a cool washcloth on their forehead, creating a peaceful environment through music and aromatherapy, and offering support throughout their transition.

You will receive full hospice volunteer training and specialized Vigil Volunteer training. All volunteers with Seasons Hospice complete a basic background check, paid for by Seasons.

If any of these opportunities sound interesting to you, contact our friendly Volunteer Services Coordinator Brian Fraser at bfraser@seasons.org to learn more!
