The Survivant Organization (TSO), a non-profit located dedicated to assisting female victims of domestic and sexual violence aged 16-24, is seeking a CASTING DIRECTOR for a true crime film shooting in Washington, DC!
You must CURRENTLY LIVE in the DC METRO AREA to be eligible for this opportunity.
We are looking for an experienced CASTING DIRECTOR (not entire production companies) to join a local film crew to shoot a project based on a cluster of cold case murders of African-American girls in the 1970s. It is our hope that this film will help raise awareness by comparing and contrasting how crimes against women have been seen and handled by law enforcement, the media, and society across time.
FILM SYNOPSIS: True crime docuseries on the "Freeway Phantom", an unidentified serial killer who took the lives of 8 female youths in Washington, D.C. from April 1971 through November 1972. The victims were all African-American girls between the ages of 10 and 18.

Below is a description of the position along with its responsibilities:
CASTING DIRECTOR:
- Organize and facilitate the casting of actors for all the roles in a film
- Working closely with the director and producer to understand their requirements
- Arranging and conducting interviews and auditions
- Acts as a liaison between the director and the actors
- Possesses wide knowledge of cinema and actors
- Excellent communication skills
- Advanced organizational skills
- Ability to take and give direction
- Great knowledge of requirements of the relevant health, safety legislation, and procedures
We really believe in this project so you must have previous experience in the position listed above in order to join our team. This is a NON-PAYING opportunity. But we hope to find other like-minded individuals who also want to affect change and work to achieve equality around the world. This position must be filled ASAP.

Description
The Survivant Organization (TSO) is a newly formed non-profit dedicated to eradicating domestic and sexual violence in females aged 16-24 through research, interactive education, and advocacy. One in every four women will experience domestic and/or sexual violence. But girls in this age range are four times more likely to experience these kinds of violence over any other age group. TSO implements programs that increase awareness, create safety plans, facilitate legal representation, and provide additional neccessities for survivors on their journey to recovery. Every woman we assist will be provided with holistic solutions, guiding survivors towards a life free from violence and abuse.
