The Hospice Intern position is a great opportunity for students studying Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, and Social Work who are searching for a fulfilling internship!
Interning involves standard administrative responsibilities, such as answering phones, making copies, maintaining needed reports & greeting visitors. Performing clerical duties to maintain an organized inpatient unit and allow medical staff to focus on patient care. Interns may also be Nursing or Master’s level Social Work students directly supervised by a licensed staff member during direct patient interactions. We are looking for an organized intern with prior clerical experience!

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
* Interns will participate in tasks compliant with the regulations set forth by their schools
* Social work and nursing interns will shadow their supervision social worker or nurse and assist them with appropriate tasks and documentation thereof.
* Business Admin and similar interns will participate in clerical activities that support their area of study
* Answering incoming calls, screening, and sending to appropriate staff member
* Assist with auditing and file maintenance
* Maintain calendar for meetings scheduled in IPU conference room, Annex II conference room & Chapel
* Assist with emergency preparedness and disaster preparation
* Use Brightree and other software to upload and assist with digital documentation
* Assist with contract preparation and review
* Prepare mailings and other correspondence including editing and revisions
* Review documentation for completeness and correctness
* Sit it on staff meetings and trainings
* Assures all mail is processed correctly and timely.
* Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
* Abides by and demonstrates the company Mission-Vision-Values through both behavior and job performance on a day-to-day basis
* Adheres to and participates in company mandatory HIPPA privacy program/practices and Business Ethics and Compliance programs/practices

While about half of our patients have some sort of cancer, a large segment of our patients have cardiac and respiratory disease, renal disease, neurological illnesses such as Alzheimer's disease, Lou Gehrig's disease, AIDS, cirrhosis and other terminal diseases.
