The American Red Cross has partnered with the San Joaquin County Food Bank to ensure our community has access to healthy food, especially during this difficult time in our world. Help with this effort as a volunteer today!
We are looking for volunteers to work at the Manteca Food Bank to help sort and distribute food. This includes working on assembly line, food packing and traffic control.
Volunteers must be able to:
- Complete a health status pre-screening to ensure worker health and safety
- Volunteer for 5 consecutive days (Monday-Friday, same shift for the full week)
- Complete a pre-screening to ensure worker health and safety
- Lift 10 pounds or more
- Stand for 3 to 4 hours at a time
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
- A mask will be provided OR you can wear your own mask if desired
- Maintain social distancing during your shift
- Take your temperature each day before reporting to your shift and possibly when you arrive at the food bank
Time Commitment: Volunteers must commit to the same shift for 5 consecutive days. Shifts are available 8am-11:30am, or 11:30am-3pm. You are welcome to work both shifts if desired, but will need to still commit to the full week (Monday-Friday).
Age: 13 -17 if accompanied by adult
Note: Please note the age maximum for this opportunity is 65 (due to health concerns). However, this is a youth-friendly opportunity. We encourage families to volunteer together!
