Volunteer Drivers Needed to Deliver Lifesaving Blood Products to Local Hospitals!
How does it feel to help save a life? This is your chance to find out! If you have a little free time, love driving, and enjoy meeting new people, the Red Cross has a great volunteer position for you.
Why Is This Position So Important?
The Red Cross collects and distributes about 40% of our nation’s blood supply. When you deliver blood, platelets, or other blood products to a hospital, you’re delivering hope to a person when they need it most.
About This Position
Are you a dependable, safe, and courteous driver who can help us make this important delivery?
Volunteer Transportation Specialists deliver life-saving blood products from Red Cross distribution facilities to hospitals. In some cases, Red Cross vehicles are available for use. If not, a reimbursement of $0.14 per mile will be offered. We need you to commit to 2 shifts per month (or more if you can!). Typical shifts are about 4 hours but can take longer due to traffic.
