Requirements:

1. Must have a working knowledge of Quickbooks Pro, or be willing to be trained.

2. Must prepare and present a monthly financial report and present it at our monthly meeting. Meeting is held the 2nd Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Placentia Library or via Zoom.

3. Collaborate with Financial Secretary to ensure collection of all monies due to the organization and make deposits as necessary.

4. Disperse funds by order of the Board by means of a budget.

5. Ensure the preparation of taxes annually using our existing Tax preparer.

We are fully willing to train a serious minded and dedicated volunteer for this position. This is a volunteer opportunity and not a paid position.

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Placentia Library Friends Foundation is to assist Placentia's public library through enhancing its programs, raising funds for operating capital and endowment, managing the endowment for the benefit of the Library, promoting volunteer programs, and providing educational and cultural opportunities for its membership and Library users.

Description

The Placentia Library Friends Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt membership organization incorporated in 1970 and reorganized in 2007. It supports Placentia Library through volunteers and grants of money for programs and services.

The Friends Foundation is managed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership at its Annual Meeting.

In its recent reorganization the Friends Foundation expanded its Mission to include raising funds through major gifts and bequests, establishing endowment funds, applying for grants from corporations and foundations and financing capital projects for Placentia Library District.

  • It is imperative that our treasurer live near or in Placentia so that he/she can present the monthly financial report in person at our board meeting, and he/she must become a member of the Placentia Library Friends Foundation to fill this position.
