Help is needed to package Meals on Wheels.

Volunteers help to package food and get everything ready for Meals on Wheels. Volunteers arrive about 9:45 am to help package food from 10:00- 10:30 am. Food is ready to go when the Meals on Wheels volunteer driver arrive to deliver the meals to homebound older adults in the community.

Food is cooked and stays hot by steam tables and other appliances.

Meals are packaged Monday- Friday. Volunteers have a variety of schedules. Some help out 1-2 x a month and others are able to help out 1-2 x a week- and a lot of schedules in between.

Food safety such as proper temperature and handwashing is discussed with the volunteers. For food safety, volunteers need to wear items such as gloves, hairnets and closed toed shoes.

Due to COVID19, we are taking precautions to protect our volunteers, customers and staff. Volunteers will be asked to maintain a 6' physical distance. Handwashing and sanitizing is prioritized. If 6' distance is not possible, volunteers are asked to wear a cloth face covering.
