Help is needed to package Meals on Wheels. Ages 14 + can help. Come with a child, grandchild, friend, or spouse.
Volunteers help to package food and get everything ready for Meals on Wheels. Volunteers arrive about 9:45 am to help package food from 10:00- 10:30 am. Food is ready to go when the Meals on Wheels volunteer driver arrive to deliver the meals to homebound older adults in the community.
Food arrives fully cooked and stays hot by steam tables and other appliances.

Meals are packaged Monday- Friday at the Antigo Community Church. Volunteers have a variety of schedules. Some help out 1-2 x a month and others are able to help out 1-2 x a week- and a lot of schedules in between.
Food safety such as proper temperature and handwashing is discussed with the volunteers. For food safety, volunteers need to wear items such as gloves, hairnets and closed toed shoes.

Description
ADRC-CW promotes choice and independence through information, personalized options counseling, advocacy, and access to services which prevent, delay, and lessen the impacts of aging and disabilities. We serve adults age 60 years and older and individuals age 17 years 6 months or older with physical disabilities, developmental disabilities, mental health concerns, substance abuse issues, as well as their families, caregivers, and friends. Our service area includes Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, and Wood Counties and we have offices in Antigo, Marshfield, Merrill, Wausau, and Wisconsin Rapids.
