A Little TIme, A Profound Effect

Compassus Hospice in N. Andover MA is looking for donations of handmade prayer shawls and prayer blankets. People typically find great comfort from a warm blanket or shawl. Imagine the joy you can bring to someone with a handmade gift made with love? Do you have the gift of knitting, crocheting or quilting? If making these items for people at the end of life speaks to your heart, then this may be the volunteer opportunity for you. We serve our patients where they live- nursing homes, assisted living facilities and their own homes. We have many patients in the Haverhill area and beyond that could benefit from your kindness.

For information on how you can bring comfort to people at the end of life contact Kim Iannacci at Kimberly.Iannacci@compassus.com or call Kim at 978 -777-8222.

Andover, Chelmsford, Wilmington and Billerica to name just some of the towns.

Compassus Hospice volunteers play a vital role in carrying out our mission to preserve each patient’s dignity while removing the fear associated with dying. Individuals who are 18 and older who are willing to share one to four hours per week are encouraged to apply to our program. Serving as a volunteer will enrich your own life in ways you can’t begin to imagine.

No previous experience in the medical field is necessary, and you will be prepared for your role with a free, comprehensive training program. This training will help you learn how to provide emotional support, companionship and respite care to patients and families.
