About the position

The organization is accepting volunteers that wants to gain experience working on team projects that would benefit the public within the organization's purposes. This opportunity prefers experience front developers but may accept inexperienced developer if they are fast learners. Applications will be published on the organization's Apple and Android Developer account. Skills that will be improved are team communication, how well you adapt to different coding languages, and you understand front end and back-end code.

Do you have the ability to?

  • Write, modify and refactor mobile software development codes to improve performance and dependency on software applications.
  • Conduct code testing using frameworks, test cases accompanied by peer reviews.
  • Follow all stages of software lifecycle methodology and create design documents.

Best if you have

  • Knowledge of mobile development programming languages like React Native, Native and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of automation test cases and testing tools like Selenium and Mocha.
  • Knowledge of APIs, Git, microservices, deployment pipelines and cloud apps.
  • Problem identification and solving skills.

Description

Comida For Familias, Inc. currently has community that is mainly made up of software engineers and designers that want to utilize their knowledge and expertise to develo technology for public benefit. Potential volunteers are suggested to go to our website project page ( https://comidaforfamilias.org/projectlist) to see projects that we plan to do, are currently working on, or have completed.
The organization also competes in hackathons and designathons to challenge volunteers and trainees to complete projects within the span of hours.

As a scientific research organization concerning food, we also encourage volunteers to post educational videos about exercise and nutrition to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
