About Open Arms Ministry

Open Arms Ministry (OAM) supports and partners with those struggling with homelessness, poverty, and food insecurity to enhance human dignity, community, and opportunity. In July 2016, OAM combined two existing programs (a drop-in program and food pantry) to become a new, independent 501C3. As part of a strategic planning process, in July 2019, the Board of Directors voted on a new vision to develop a safe community through providing basic needs and the opportunity to build individual and community capacity. Within this vision is the assumption that in order to best serve OAM participants, looking at and responding to the root causes of both food insecurity and homelessness is needed.

OAM will engage in a further strategic planning process in 2020-2021. During this process, the Board of Trustees will be building a new vision and structure for OAM. With this in mind, the organization is looking for innovators to join the Board of Trustees, with a desire to innovate and create something new.
