ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army - San Jose, CA

Volunteers are needed every weekday to help the Family Services Dept. Outside Office: Help with check-in of Food Box Distribution drive-thru or walk thru clients, data entry info, direct flow of traffic, answer basic questions. Inside Office: data entry, issue clothing vouchers, answer or take phone messages, process paperwork. Morning & afternoon shifts available: Mondays thru Fridays 8:45am-12:15 and/or 12:45pm-3pm. Bilinguals in Spanish, Vietnamese, Cantonese and Mandarin appreciated but not mandatory.

Volunteers must follow all COVID-19 guidelines including social distancing, sneezing/coughing etiquette, wearing of face masks, etc.

Assistance requests have doubled during the COVID-19 and volunteers are needed to help with food box distribution drive-thru and walk-thru and the Family Services Office as they try to process paperwork, conduct over the phone applications, distribute food, issue vouchers and other programs to individuals. seniors and families struggling to survive during COVID-19.

Age Requirement of 18-59 years old.

2 Shifts

  • morning / 08:30 AM to 12:30 PM
    Actual time is 8:45am-12:45pm.
  • afternoon / 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM
    Actual time is 12:45pm-3pm.
