Farmers Market Volunteers work directly with PIF farmers to support their work at local markets by:
* Helping with market set up and tear down
* Providing customers with seasonal eating tips
* Knowledgeably answering questions about about our produce and organization
* Building community! Strong relationships with customers and other vendors are our keys to success
* Spreading the word about Plant It Forward!

Plant It Forward empowers refugees to develop sustainable urban farming businesses that produce fresh, healthy food for our community.
Description
We envision thriving farmers, enriching Houston's vibrant landscape. Since 2012, we have enabled refugees with agricultural backgrounds to put their skills to use by creating urban farming businesses. Plant It Forward provides training, access to land, and access to fair markets. Our hardworking farmers do the rest.
To date, we have trained over 40 aspiring farmers and have supported 18 farm startups. We currently work with a network of 14 farmers operating 8 farms on 4 sites throughout urban Houston.
