About JerseySTEM
JerseySTEM is a grassroots 501(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing Science, Technology, Engineering and Math ("STEM") education to pre-teen and teenage girls and underserved children in New Jersey.
We partner with socially responsible companies and their employees, youth organizations in underserved communities, and civic-minded college students and universities.
Together we develop and deliver innovative, hands-on and online afterschool projects and inquiry-based learning opportunities that develop teamwork, 21st century problem solving skills, and self-esteem.
Role Overview:
The Role of Campus Liaison is to be knowledgeable about the College or University you are responsible for as a JerseySTEM volunteer and become familiar with the key stakeholders. You will network, build and manage relationships with those stakeholders in order to establish long lasting relationships. Your primary goal is to develop inroads with these stakeholders to effectively identify and target high performing students to recruit as volunteer coaches for the JerseySTEM nonprofit organization.
Essential Functions
Build and strengthen relationships with the university's career services and other administrators, faculty, and student organizations.
Attend in-person and/or virtual Career Fairs in Fall & Spring Semesters.
Organize Informational Session(s) both in-person & online for students of the University campus.
Maintain the Salesforce database of all the contacts.
Coordinate with the Marketing & Social Media teams to Create and implement a social media strategy for identifying and building relationships with prospective talent using Drip campaigns prior to each semester.
Recruit student volunteers to be coaches for JerseySTEM.
communicate regularly on status of university programs
Promote the creation of a JerseySTEM club on campus and facilitate the recruitment of an Advisor.
Partner with CRPE to organize an annual conference to be attended by the JerseySTEM Volunteers & Prospective Volunteers.
Serve and Promote JerseySTEM’s mission, vision, and goals.
Basic Qualifications:
- Genuine concern about/interest in solving gender and opportunity gaps in education specifically in STEM.
- Clear and persuasive communication skills combined with exceptional interpersonal skill
- Expertise in leveraging social media for sourcing and organization branding
- Ability to work independently on sensitive and complex matters.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Ability to travel to JerseySTEM facility and respective college campus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- The ability to form meaningful relationships via networking.
- Sales Experience is a plus.
- Flexible Schedule.

Description
Incorporated in 2013, JerseySTEM started bringing afterschool enrichment programs to middle school girls in 2015.
We have since provided 1,000 students with exposure to afterschool enrichment programs delivering more than 20,000 hours of instruction. Students learn to code, build robots, solve problems and through that process gain self-esteem and confidence that they can be the leaders of tomorrow.
