HousingMatch.org

HousingMatch.org is Massachusetts premiere non profit shared housing network seeking a dynamic, caring person preferably with background in social work or human services for the Data Entry/Membership Coordinator position.

In these unprecedented times, we must work together to support vulnerable communities and provide vital resources needed to protect peoples' health and housing. Supported shared housing is an innovative approach to housing persons who cannot afford market rate rents. HousingMatch.org is ready to launch our new site designed for and by case managers who work directly with persons at risk of homelessness. Join our team and help us make this new resource available so we can provide a safe, supported, private portal for tenants to post their ads for roommates wanted.

The Membership Coordinator will be responsible for the intake of applicants to our network. This is a completely remote position requiring secure access to the internet to complete the tasks. Volunteers screen applications, maintain records, and track membership data.

A successful Membership Coordinator has an understanding of landlord tenant rights and responsibilities in Massachusetts, excellent computer skills, and must be reliable, organized, and self-disciplined.

This is a part time volunteer position for a current resident of Massachusetts who is able to work one of our three available shifts, 2 hours daily, 2-3 days per week, Monday through Friday. Morning: 9am-11am; Afternoon 12pm-2pm; Midday: 2pm-4pm.

This internship is a three-month commitment that may become a part time paid position for the right person; a background check is required which HousingMatch.org will conduct without charge to the volunteer.

Responsibilities include,

  • Process online membership applications and screen new member applicants.
  • Review web content for membership compliance.
  • Collect data, track membership activity, and maintain database spreadsheets.

Other requirements:

  • High School Equivalency or Diploma, Bachelors preferred.
  • Previous experience in housing advocacy or property management preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Proficient with Google Suite products.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated.
  • Reliable and responsible

About HousingMatch.org

Location:

6 Liberty Square #2122, Boston, MA 02109, US

Mission Statement

To provide a network for families and individuals to share housing; obtain resources and services; secure healthy, safe, affordable homes; and reduce homelessness.

Description

HousingMatch.org is a private online community for families and individuals who seek to share housing. Our network provides additional case manager support, privacy, and security.

Many tenants cannot afford to live in Boston because rents take up 50-75% of their monthly income. They live month to month hanging by a thread. HousingMatch.org is forming a network for social services agencies, housing agencies, tenants, and landlords that can offer an option for families and individuals to connect with others who are in the same situation. By joining online directly or with a case manager referral, families can meet other families and individuals to connect using the HousingMatch.org database which will be shared privately between members only. People in need can share housing, access resources, and build a private online community that offers them safe, affordable housing. Help us build Boston's first shared housing network and open the door to shared housing opportunities utilizing a safe, private, supported online network.
