United Americans Disaster Response Team is seeking a Certified Public Accountant to fill the Treasurer position on our Board of Directors. The Treasurer is responsible for overseeing, recording, and advising on any financial transactions. The Treasurer is also responsible for working with the Director of Development on fundraising campaigns. Openness and transparency are a must for this position!

Other responsibilities:

• Non-profit tax document filing and preparation
• Provides financial reports to the Board of Directors at each meeting and as requested
• Develops junior financial professionals into stronger leaders within the organization
• Financial management/oversight of grants. This may involve complete management or oversight of an appointed Grant Manager.
• Other duties as assigned and agreed upon.

Minimum Requirements:

• Certified Public Accountant - Active
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must be a United States citizen
• Must be a United States resident
• Must complete certain FEMA Independent Study online courses prior to being seated on the Board
• Ability to be bonded
• Ability to pass a background check, including criminal records and drug screens as allowed by federal, state, and local laws

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduate degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related discipline
• 5+ years of work experience
• Supervisory experience
• Grant management experience
• Successful completion of the CPA Ethics Exam
