Homeless 2 Home Move-In Volunteers will help move furniture and set up for our clients moving in to new units.

Requirements: 

• Able to work in collaborative environment, such as with other volunteers
  * Comfortable with light to moderate physical activities, such as cleaning unit, lifting boxes, or moving furniture. Tasks can be modified based on volunteer’s individual skills
  * Respect and maintain confidentiality of Lutheran Social Services clients and employees

Must be willing to travel to cities within Ventura County

Position Description: 
LSS is in need of volunteers to help move homeless clients into their new units. This supports our Rapid Re-Housing program, which finds affordable units for clients with incomes and works with landlords to secure permanent housing for clients. Once these units have been secured, clients often need support moving their belongings and any new / donated furniture into their new unit. Our move-in volunteers will help clean and set up the unit so that newly housed clients feel comfortable in their new home.

Time commitment: 

2-4 hours, flexible. One-time event (non-recurring).

Support: 
Masks, hand sanitizer, and cleaning supplies provided. LSS staff will be onsite to organize volunteers into groups and answer questions.
