ORGANIZATION: Women's Daytime Drop-In Center

The Women's Daytime Drop-In Center is in need of volunteers who are bilingual in Spanish and English or Mam and Spanish/English to help assist Mam and Spanish speaking clients at the Center, as well as help create and update Spanish language documents. General volunteer duties include but are not limited to:

  • Helping clients with enrolling at WDDC and helping clients locate resources
  • Providing clients with hygiene products, grocery packs, and mail services
  • Pack grocery bags and meals specific to a client's requests
  • Aiding staff
  • Organizational support
  • Answering phones (as needed)
  • Supporting meal prep in the kitchen

The Women's Daytime Drop-In Center empowers women and children to move from the streets to a home by providing ongoing and intensive counseling, case management services, transitional housing, and a safe daytime refuge.

Description

Our services include:

  • Hospitality window - serving meals to go, groceries, hygiene products, diapers
  • Intensive case management to assist with obtaining and maintaining housing.
  • Children's Program offering positive play and educational activities.
  • Extensive housing resource information, referral, and advocacy.
  • Bridget Transitional House.

  • Orientation or Training
  • 2-3 hours shift at our center Monday - Friday; shifts available between 8:30 - 2:30 most days; we are looking for a regular weekly commitment starting in January
