Join our Intergenerational Volunteer Community!

Volunteers 65+ are needed to share wisdom and friendship with local high school and middle school students looking for intergenerational connections during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We offer multiple opportunities to connect phone and Zoom with students, in small and large group settings.

Volunteers can:

  • Virtually visit a middle school classroom for fun, engaging games, discussions, and art activities.
  • Join DOROT's teen interns in teen-led discussion groups, book clubs, ‚Äčor collaborative art activities.
  • Sign up for a weekly chess match, led by a chess master from Chess NYC.
  • Take part in regular friendly phone or video-chat visits with individual or pairs of teens and tweens

Join us! Programs begin in February and run through May.

Sign up for a DOROT volunteer orientation session to learn more about how you can get involved.
