Use your skills for good by helping refugees and local disadvantaged people learn to code, be more confident - and ultimately, find meaningful work in tech. We are growing our reach, capability and impact, but we can't do it without people like you!
Due to the current climate, and the increased demand to manage more activity, we're looking specifically for volunteers in the area of Outreach, who will be responsible for:
1) Promoting Code Your Future to other non-profit organisations.
2) Helping to organise onboarding events for course applicants and new volunteers.
3) Producing content to be used on our blogs and social media. An outreach volunteer uses their communication or organisational skills to help tell the Code Your Future story and run events, to bring in new students, volunteers and corporate partners into our fun, inclusive community.
The Outreach team will share responsibilities for the following;
- Posting on social media
- Taking photos or organising photography
- Organising events and welcoming guests.
- Contacting partners - NGOs, hiring companies, etc.
- Creating or organising content creation - photos, blogs, video, etc.
- Connecting with companies for fundraising or sponsorship.
- Finding partnerships for final projects - Seek out potential employment opportunities for students
If you can help contribute to any of the above, or have ideas on how we can grow our reach, please come along - we'd love to hear from you!
People from all industries welcome in our vibrant community, not only tech! We're looking for people who can start as soon as possible. Ideally we want volunteers to be able to commit at least 3-4 hours a week, working remotely from home.

Description
We are a non-profit organisation supporting refugees and disadvantaged individuals with the dream of becoming developers. In their journey of interrupted lives, unfinished studies and integration challenges, many of these individuals yearn to update their tech skills, but lack learning opportunities. We want to change this. In 2016 we launched the first cohort of our 8-month web development programme, coached by a group of professional developers.
