Volunteer with Nourish Knoxville on Saturdays with the Market at Mary Costa Plaza in these incredibly unique times. Your support allows us to continue providing food to those who need it and support to our local farmers.

Volunteering involves some set-up/tear-down of market booth and gathering orders for customers who have completed curbside pick up. Choose from the following shifts:

• 8:30 -11 am
• 11 am-1:30 pm

Please sign in at the information booth at the entrance of the Mary Costa Plaza market, where you'll receive your volunteer lanyard. If no staff member is present (sometimes we're running around!) you can call 865-805-8687, ext 1.

Volunteer Responsibilities

• Check your temperature before coming.
• Stay 6’ away from anyone else while working whenever possible.
• Wear a mask
• No food or beverage consumption in the tent or within the market footprint.
• Use gloves when serving customers

Also of note:

Bathroom: We will have a bathroom available for vendors and NK staff/volunteers only.

Free parking: Parking for Mary Costa Plaza is available in GARAGE A on Howard Baker Jr. Avenue, right across from Mary Costa Plaza and the Knoxville Civic Auditorium-Coliseum. Parking for New Harvest is free in the park’s lot.

Overwhelm: If you have not been out in public much, spending a few hours at the farmers’ market can feel like a lot! You will see nearly everyone wearing masks and, while you’ll be 6’ apart most of the time, will interact with a lot of people. Expect to be tired afterward and need some extra rest and rejuvenation. Please reach out to market staff with any concerns.
