ORGANIZATION: Heart of Hospice

Volunteers are an integral part of the hospice
care team and make an invaluable difference in
the lives of patients and their loved ones. Some
volunteers choose to interact with patients
directly, while others support us through
administrative tasks. As a volunteer, you decide
how you want to help, and we’re always grateful
for your compassion.

If you choose to support us through you would benefit the patients and families in these roles and others:
Direct Patient Care, Bereavement Calls, Administrative Tasks and our Veteran to Veteran Program!

About Heart of Hospice

Location:

1700 Belle Chasse Hwy Bldg B Suite 230, Gretna, LA 70056, US

Mission Statement

We believe that all hospice eligible patients and those who love them deserve the best care at the end of life. Our mission is to serve all patients the way they desire to be served.

Description

In 2014, Heart of Hospice was purchased by
Evening Post Industries (EPI), a privately
held, family-owned company. EPI believed
that Heart of Hospice could lead transformation in the industry through commitment
to breaking barriers to access and providing
quality, end-of-life care to all eligible hospice
patients. With strong, experienced leadership,
Heart of Hospice has become the transformative hospice that was envisioned and each day
strives to serve all patients and families who
need and desire our care.
Administrative
Administrative volunteers support daily
office functions such as filing, mailing,
organization, data entry, and telephone
duty.
Direct Patient Care
Direct patient care volunteers interact
with patients and their loved ones by
providing companionship or respite for
family members, running errands, or
completing yardwork and other helpful
tasks.
Speciality Program
Each location has specialty programs
developed to address the unique needs
of patients and their loved ones, such as
Veteran-to-Veteran volunteering or Pet
Companionship.
