ORGANIZATION: BOOKSPRING

  • 22 people are interested

Looking to develop your professional skills? A youth literacy nonprofit in Central Texas is looking for volunteers to coordinate digital content for its website, Instagram, and Facebook. You'll be working intimately with the communications director to help this nonprofit support needy families who are unable to readily access books to provide for their children. You'll be cultivating blogs, parenting tips, and social media blasts in a meaningful role that will help this organization save money in order to provide the postage necessary for its new book-by-mail program, since it can no longer deliver books to children directly due to pandemic concerns.

About BOOKSPRING

Location:

2006 GREENBROOK PKWY, AUSTIN, TX 78723, US

Mission Statement

Our programs both increase awareness of the importance of reading while providing the tools to do so. To maximize impact, we partner with medical clinics, schools, and other non-profits to work through their programs with book distributions, supplemental activities, and events designed to educate, inspire, and build intrinsic motivation to read.

Description

BookSpring is the only Central Texas organization focusing on building literacy skills and the motivation to read through increasing home libraries and reading aloud activities for children. With over 45 years of experience, BookSpring has taken the best practices of our founding national programs and adapted them to the special needs of Central Texas low-income families. We have created a continuum of early literacy interventions that support brain development, family interaction, skill building and the motivation to read in children from birth through age 12.
