Share your time and your heart! Our Patient Care Volunteers brighten the day of our patients by visiting to play cards or games, watch TV, read, take walks, or simply share in good old fashioned conversation. Volunteers are also able to perform light housekeeping duties, bring in music, or write a "life review" for the family they are with to cherish. This opportunity is not virtual, but is located at the patients place of residence and will be based on where you as the volunteer are located as well. Training schedule and volunteer hours are flexible, and we work to make visits fit for both the patient and volunteer! Volunteers must be 18 years old, pass a background check, and take a TB test in order to visit patients.
This volunteer opportunity could be located at a patient's residence located within Porter/Lake County. OR at a nursing facility located within Porter/Lake County.

Join our volunteer program and make a difference in someone's life!!! We have training programs established to ensure that every volunteer has the necessary support and knowledge to help our patients and families. Tasks may include but not limited to: Provide companionship, Read books or news, Celebrate holidays, Help with light housekeeping, Make phone calls or write letters, Provide emotional/spiritual support, Sit with patients to relive caregivers, Help with bereavement, Administrative work in the office, or Utilizing a volunteers specific talents!!!
