We are currently seeking volunteer assistance with our Contact Investigation Teams. Volunteer Contact Investigators assist in tracking and limiting the spread of COVID-19 in Waukesha County. With this job you will reach out to individuals who may have been identified as a close contact of a confirmed case. It is essential that anyone working on this maintain absolute confidentiality.
This position is virtual, so it can be done from your home. We will provide a laptop, headphone, and flip cell phone for you to utilize. You will need to have a home with a secure internet connection, and be comfortable recording information electronically (we will train you on that portion). You will be assigned a team to work with who you can communicate with via Microsoft Teams (which we will also train you on).
The commitment is a big one, and we recognize that. It is 20 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months. These hours should take place ideally Monday-Friday from 8:00-4:30 and/or Saturday and Sunday from 10:00-2:00, but there might be some flexibility with the hours. The average case we have takes about 20 hours, thus why we are asking for such a large commitment. The hours will vary depending on the number of reported cases and the difficulty of each contact case. This position is ideal for compassionate, organized, "people-people". Those with medical backgrounds are strongly preferred but not essential.
There is both a virtual and in-person training component that is necessary before you get started with the position. We are currently scheduling weekly trainings through mid June. The in-person portion is currently a 2 day training.
If you are interested or have questions, please contact us through VolunteerMatch or email kstraw@waukeshacounty.gov.
We would be grateful to use our community's compassion and skills with Contact Investigation. Doing this will truly help keep our community safe and help curb the spread of COVID-19.
