Help us respond to our neighbors experiencing a housing crisis!
Jesse Tree is one of the Treasure Valley's few nonprofits dedicated to preventing people from getting evicted and experiencing homelessness.
We are seeking remote bilingual Housing Crisis Line volunteers who will return voicemails and emails to Jesse Tree's Housing Crisis Line, making sure people who call in that are not fluent in English are receiving needed information and assistance to stay housed.
The languages we are needing the most assistance with include Spanish & Swahili, but if you are fluent in another language we urge you to volunteer with us!
Volunteers will assist callers with:
- Answering a series of screening questions utilizing prompts provided on Google Suite programs (Google Sheets, Google Forms, Google Voice, etc.)
- Help callers evaluate what resources and services they may be able to utilize during their housing crisis
- Refer callers to other needed community programs and resources
- Collect caller information for Jesse Tree's Emergency Rent Assistance Program if they fall within Jesse Tree's program criteria
