Atlanta: Communications and Event Specialist Volunteer Needed!

The volunteer in this role will be responsible for the research, development, execution and analysis of marketing and promotions in support of all programs and events in the Southeast Region. This includes, but is not limited to, programs, promotions and events at the Best Friends Lifesaving Center in Atlanta, off-site adoption events, community outreach and national events executed regionally.

• Assist in planning and executing grassroots marketing initiatives within the Atlanta market to support adoption goals, programs, local and national events
• Collaborate with local PR, national editorial and digital marketing teams for story ideation to be shared on digital channels
• Assist, where needed, in orchestrating Best Friends press events, press coverage (including TV & radio studio visits) and press conferences in collaboration with local PR and Communications Manager

• Assist in the expansion and strengthening of our event volunteer team.

This includes developing training materials, onboarding processes, team building tactics and ensuring volunteer performance is in line with the Best Friends brand

• Coordinate and execute community and in-house events that build brand awareness and drive traffic to our Lifesaving Center
• Assist BFAS National Events team with planning, set up and tear down of larger and smaller scale events in the Atlanta area. Including loading and unloading of event supplies, communicating with rescue partners/vendors/sponsors and working closely with other departments
