TECHNICAL WRITER
This unpaid volunteer opportunity is best suitable to those who are seeking experience towards job growth or is retired and looking to make a difference.
The Technical Writer will assist Grant Writers create and revise technical documents such as manuals, reports, brochures, or articles.
Supervisory Responsibilities:Duties/Responsibilities:- Writes and edits technical documents including reference manuals and product manuals.
- Writes and edits procedural documentation such as user guides and manuals.
- Determines the type of publication that will best serve the project requirements.
- Meets with engineers, programmers, and project managers to learn about specific products or processes.
- Researches product samples to fully understand product.
- Assesses the audience needs for whom the technical and procedural documentation is intended; adjusts tone and technical terms used to meet those needs and to ensure understanding.
- Plans writing processes and sets timelines and deadlines.
- Creates or works with graphic designers to create diagrams, charts, and other visual aids to assist readers in understanding a product or process.
- Gathers feedback from customers, designers, and manufacturers to improve technical documents.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent writing and grammatical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to present complex data in clear, concise text.
- Ability to meet deadlines and to work independently.
- Ability to edit and proofread work of colleagues.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Bachelors degree in English, Technical Writing, or related field required.
- Three years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Minimum 20 hours assistance to Grant Writers per month.
Location:
- Virtual through July 15, 2020.
- In-office from July 16, 2020.

Cullinan Group Foundation is a 501(c)3 public charity organization who serves everyone in the community where it exists. The foundation has been around since 2005 and has taken a break for a year to restructure.

Our Board Members have government, military, law enforcement, global employment and training background. We experience what others call blood sweat and tears and yet we never gave up. We are fully compliant. We deliver annual report to all donor though publication they can keep and show everyone around them. We deliver receipt of any value to all donors in less than 24 hours.
