ARM is a health and hygiene nonprofit currently focusing on direct hygiene intervention for the underserved of Middlesex County, NJ. During typical times, ARM marshals community support to provide free haircuts, free meals, care packs, health education and more. In direct response to the COVID crisis, ARM is currently leading a coalition of organizations including Robert Wood Johnson Medical School to offer the first Mobile Dignity Stations in the state (mobile handwashing). Additionally, ARM is nearing our fundraising goal to bring the first grassroots organized mobile showers in the state as well.
As health and hygiene needs continue to rise to the top of the current milieu, we are seeking experienced professionals, nonprofit experts, and community leaders to join our inaugural Advisory Board. As a board member, you will be one of the leaders propelling our mission of "health and hygiene to those who need it" to the greater Middlesex County area and all across the state. As our mission goes mobile, we intend to extend the reach of our services across multiple communities, in areas where need is most concentrated.

Mission Statement
ARM provides much needed personal hygiene and human services to homeless people in Middlesex County with the goal of raising each person's self-esteem and ultimately his/her quality of life.
Description
ARM was born out of a push to do more. Most of our founders were Rutgers University Alumni and we often found that student engagement was limited to very scripted activities that treat philanthropy as a reactive rather than a proactive endeavor. We were tired of doing the least we could do, so we fixed that. ARM currently operates several events a year that focus on putting the wonderful private institutions that make New Brunswick and Middlesex County unique back to the service of its citizens. Oh, and did we mention, we want to retrofit a metro bus to bring free showers and connect service providers to guests! #JointheARMy and let's fight to make our community a little better, together.
