ORGANIZATION: Moments Hospice

Moments Hospice has lead a project to launch our #healthcareheros project. Phase one of this project went off with immediate success. We delivered over 1000 signs to healthcare workers and healthcare facilities around MN and Wisconsin.

Now we are launching phase two and are reaching out asking for help. We are looking for volunteers to help with two stages of this project.

Volunteer 1- Making calls to police departments, supermarkets, gas stations, churches, schools asking them if we can deliver signs to honor Healthcare heroes.

Volunteer 2- Picking up signs at one of our local office and delivering signs to police departments, supermarkets, gas stations, churches, schools and anyone else who would like to take part in this initiative.

We have offices in the following cities

I’ve included the story that was aired this past Sunday for KEYC in Mankato, MN: https://www.keyc.com/video/2020/04/26/moments-hospice-sets-up-over-thousand-signs-supporting-health-care-workers/

And Wednesday night (4/29) on KIMT in Rochester, MN: https://www.kimt.com/content/news/Delivering-signs-of-hope-and-support-for-healthcare-workers-570068381.html

Why did we do the signs?

  • In early April, our leadership team talked about what can we do to show support for our employees for being on the front lines and being so brave and eager to help our Hospice patients. We noticed that some people around the country were creating handmade signs for healthcare workers. We thought to ourselves, how can we mass produce signs for our team members; but also could we show the support for our fellow healthcare workers at Nursing Homes and Assisted Livings around Minnesota and Western WI.
  • We bought over 1000 signs that we could show support for our employees, and we have been putting these up around MN and Western WI at their homes to thank them and to hopefully have others in their own communities recognize them and thank them for being the real heroes during this pandemic.
  • With essential businesses being shut down, it was difficult to get these signs quickly. We worked with a company based out of St. Paul, MN to get the signs made and started to deliver the signs to our teammates and our Nursing Home/Senior Living partners.
  • We’ve coined this campaign as the "delivering signs of hope and support for our healthcare heroes".
  • Our goal is to put smiles on these hardworking dedicated healthcare workers faces, to let them know that they’re supported and we care about them.
  • We’re hoping that when community neighbors drive by our team’s homes, or these facilities that they are thankful for these incredible healthcare workers and honk their horn in support.
  • So far the feedback has been tremendous, and the shares on social media have been trending more and more.
