Vivify Community Charities advocates for people in need. For this project, we focus on children with special needs. Our advocates represent the best interests of children with IEPs and 504s. This is especially important during the current pandemic, as many parents have difficulties navigating technology in order to facilitate meetings and understand their options using internet resources.
As an advocate, you will work virtually (or in person in Texas, if deemed safe and necessary) to help parents represent their child's needs to reach an amicable solution with the school.
Stipend available.

Description
This organization has a 30-year history but we have recently revitalized our infrastructure with a renewed emphasis on advocacy in historically disadvantaged communities, particularly in the areas of education, housing, health care, and basic human rights. We also provide resources and support to families in need, especially information and technology to support homeschooling and virtual instructional needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
