The Buena Park Library District is seeking in-person teen volunteers to provide staff support to the children's department. Volunteers at the library perform a variety of routine duties related to shelving, service, programming and cataloguing assistance as well as additional related duties as assigned by a library employee.
Examples of duties include: placing books on shelves, cleaning toys, dusting, packaging crafts, program prep, removing and placing stickers on books.
If interested in the current opportunit y , a teen volunteer application can be picked up at the children's desk. Return the filled application with parent permission to the children’s desk.

Description
Public libraries in California seek to engage the talents, skills and commitment of volunteers to serve the communities' information and literacy needs. Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.

- Volunteer shifts are weekly and a one hour commitment.
- Volunteers must be 14-18 years of age in high school. The library does not accept court ordered or court suggested community service volunteers, nor does the library accept volunteers needing hours to fulfill probation requirements.
