The blood supply in the United States is at risk due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. We are working around the clock to set up blood drives in our communities to ensure those who need the blood the most, will have access to it. At these blood drives, we need volunteers there to help provide a positive experience for those donating. Volunteers assist with screening donors for COVID-19 precautions, help with the sign-in process, make the waiting time comfortable for donors, and providing a snack and beverage once the donations are complete.
1 shift per month is required. You will need to fill out a volunteer application by going to: http://volunteerconnection.redcross.org/?nd=intake&entry_point_id=37&entry_point_type=global_entry_point. Next you will need to read through brief training materials. Once that is complete, you will have access to a calendar to see what drives are in your area, and sign up directly from there.
