ORGANIZATION: Spark Program

Spark Student Group

Are you a working professional in San Francisco or the Peninsula and interested in impacting youth, public education, and bridging the gap between communities across the Bay Area? Is your team or company looking for volunteer opportunities within education and working with youth?

Spark in the Bay is seeking Ambassadors from new Corporate Partners to support our Career Exploration and Self-Discovery program for Title 1 middle schoolers in the Bay.

Spark Ambassadors are responsible for leading coordination efforts at their company, including recruiting their colleagues to volunteer for one 2-hour workshop in the fall and for our 10-week mentorship program held once a week in the Spring. Additionally, Spark Ambassadors assist with program quality monitoring on the company side and representing Spark at their company.

Given the current circumstances caused by COVID-19, part or all of Spark’s programming may be transitioned online in the coming school year. As a result, we are looking for Spark Ambassadors with knowledge of basic virtual learning technologies such as Zoom and the Google Suite, as well as flexibility and commitment to creating a quality experience for Spark students.

The Spark Ambassador workload varies greatly upon the program timeline. During volunteer recruitment and programming, the commitment can be up to 5 hours per week, whereas outside of the program season, the Spark Ambassador and Spark Staff check-in casually for updates.. Prompt communication, transparency, and belief in Spark’s mission are all greatly valued in a Spark Ambassador.
