  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 132 people are interested

Calling all Kindergarten to 12th grade Student-Musicians (aged 5 to 18).
Do you like to sing? Do you play an instrument? Do you want to help the community?
Student-Musician volunteering has musical power: Heal, Connect, Grow and Unite!

Come and join student musicians from the nation/world to share your love and music talents with isolated senior residents
who live in the Assisted Living facilities. Over 800 student musicians from 24 states in the U.S. and 4 foreign countries have volunteered their precious time by simply sharing their amazing music talents with the isolated elderly.

All music levels and music genres are welcome!
You can practice at home, perform, record your music performance video, and then send us the link to your performance video (ex: YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram or simply place in the iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, or Amazon share drive to be shared). We will consolidate your video with other student musician's into one single playlist and broadcast weekly at seven Assisted Living facilities that have partnered with us. Student-Musician volunteers will be awarded student service learning (community service) hours via email once the performance has been completed and broadcasted in our scheduled virtual concerts.

When words fail, music speaks.
When distance separates, music connects.

Mission Statement

UNMUTE aims to bridge the intergenerational relationships in and around the community, and a better society through the power of music; youth volunteerism; and youth development by providing volunteer opportunities and programming to K-12 students.

UNMUTE is a unique National non-profit and tax-exempt organization unlike anyone else. Founded in August of 2019 and led by teenage student musicians, UNMUTE initially is launched as a project in and sponsored by the Lutheran Village at Miller's Grant in Maryland. UNMUTE strives to restore and revive the sound output of not only their musical instruments but also the voices of their audience. The project focuses on outreach programs and providing opportunities for K-12 students to serve the community with open hearts and open music. Through music performances, students learn to share their unique talents with those in need and to bring color and hope to the lives of many.
