Haiti-Now is dedicated to empowering Haitian girls living in domestic servitude to overcome poverty and exploitation to achieve economic security.

After onboarding your first assignment will be to start a fundraising campaign. Haiti Now will provide further guidance for you to have a quick and successful fundraiser.

Role brief:

We are seeing an experienced English/creole translator for the translation of internal documents.

Responsibilities:

Carefully listens to or reads content including jargon and acronyms in the original language.

Understands and analyzes what is being said or written, and the message, intent, and nuances being communicated.

Reproduces statements or questions in the desired output language.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Ideally, we need translators born in Haiti and attended school in Haiti up to 8/9th grade.

Applicants would be assessed on their fluency in creole speaking and writing.

Fluency in, and thorough understanding of, the primary language(s) being translated: The Creole must be the mother tongue.

Superior verbal and written communication skills in applicable languages.

Ability to commit Volunteering for 5+ hour/ week

Preferred skills: Knowledge of Slack, Trello and Google drive.
