Helping adult students learn English in online classes during Summer 2024

Manos de Cristo (Manos) is a nonprofit that offers ESL classes to students in Austin, Texas. Our ESL classes range from Levels Basic through High- Intermediate. Our growing education program relies almost entirely on volunteer instructors, and that's why we need you!

Our ESL teachers are offered opportunities to teach in an online live classroom and gain experience in lesson planning, interpersonal communication and exposure to cultural diversity. Teachers will prepare and administer lessons from reading materials and bring the English language to life from their own real world applications.

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to commit to teaching twice a week, Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-11:30 AM or from 6:30-8:30 pm (Central Time). Classes will begin June 3th and run through JUly 24th. Previous experience in teaching ESL, and/or if you are bilingual or know some Spanish is a plus, but not a requirement. The lead teacher will receive curriculum guides, additional learning materials, and training on how to use our platform and online resources.

Individuals who are wanting to get hands on training in the world of ESL are highly encouraged to apply. This would also be an excellent opportunity for someone looking to teach English abroad.
