Over 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease, and it is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States. The Alzheimer's Association is a volunteer-driven organization, and we are looking for passionate volunteers to serve on the Community Engagement Committee for the 2022 Walk to End Alzheimer's- Silicon Valley. We are looking for natural leaders, creative types, resourcefulness, people with a can-do attitude, a willingness to step up and help out, and those who want to meet others who also care deeply about ending Alzheimer's. Whatever your talents, we have a role for you! You can make an impact in the fight to End Alzheimer's.
We are actively seeking new members for 2022. We are meeting virtually until it's safe to do so in person.
Some of the skills that we are seeking include:

Description
We provide programs and support services for patients, families, caregivers, and others in the San Francisco Bay Area affected by Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. Outside the federal government, the Alzheimer's Association is the largest research funder in the country and offers advocacy opportunities to make public policy change.
At the Alzheimer's Association, diversity and inclusion are vital to our mission. The Association leads strategic initiatives to support diversity and a culture of inclusivity. These strategic initiatives also strengthen outreach to all populations, providing communities with resources and support to address the Alzheimer’s crisis. By partnering with organizations locally and nationally to advance diversity and inclusion, the Association can broaden its reach in all communities.

- The committee meets monthly for 60 - 90 minutes. Other meetings or activities can be 1 - 10 hours a month depending on your schedule and level of involvement.
