Ambassador Role
Ambassadors at Clearwater Beach will be stationed at designated beach entrances during the day. The mission of the Ambassadors is to promote the safe use of the public bathing beach by verbally engaging the public at a safe distance (6 feet) reminding people of the social distancing requirements and to make sure to place themselves apart. Hand sanitizing distribution will also be a duty. Ambassadors should communicate the measures being taken by the city to ensure a safe public bathing beach.
Shifts
We have two shifts available. Volunteers can choose to work one for the designated day, or can choose to do both.
Shift 1: 8:45am-130pm
Shift 2: 12:30pm-5pm
Ambassador Uniforms
- Surgical masks and gloves that PD is providing must be worn when interacting with the public or others.
- A dry fit volunteer shirt will be distributed upon arrival. Khaki or black work-appropriate shorts, and provided beach-style hats.
Volunteers can park at the Marina parking behind the Crabby's restaurant in the coned in parking spots. You will be given a parking pass upon arrival. These passes need to be returned to the manager on duty following your shift.
Additional Information
Water will be provided throughout the day, but food and snacks are the responsibility of each individual. please feel free to bring a cooler packed with lunch, snacks, and/or drinks!
Please also be sure to bring sunscreen, hats, heat protective gear, and lots of options to hydrate! We will have tents at each entrance.

- Insuring the safety of all volunteers, staff and citizens who interact with us.
- Acknowledging the efforts and time of all volunteers through various means of appreciation.
- Accepting students, adults, individuals, groups, businesses and other community organizations that wish to give their time and talents to improve the City of Clearwater and it’s Parks and Recreation services, facilities and programs.
- Treating all volunteers equally regardless of age, sex, color, race, national origin, religious preference, political beliefs, or disabilities that do not prohibit performance of volunteer.
