About The Role: The caseworker position is open to candidates with experience in social work/casework, of Greek citizenship or with authorization and experience working in Greece, who are passionate about LGBTQI+ rights and supporting asylum seekers & refugees through their application process, and integration process.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain weekly check-ins with your assigned members, 15 min - 1 hr sessions on average.
  • Caseload is about 30 members
  • Facilitate the transfer of information that will enable members to prepare relevant documentation and access specialised care
  • Facilitate group meetings for house members on average, once per month
  • Carry out risk assessment and make referrals when necessary, inform members of the existing provisions available to them and encourage them to explore and map external safe spaces
  • Support and guide residents in their job search and in their housing search
  • Coordinate with translators and cultural mediators as necessary
  • Carry out crisis management and de-escalation techniques in special emergency situations
  • Collaborate on data collection and mapping of structures and services for the target population.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all information of the members
  • Promoting long-term strategy and problem/conflict resolution.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned

Requirements:

    • Greek citizenship or eligible to work within the EU

    • Background in social work or counseling

    • Firm understanding of the asylum process in Greece

    • Experience in Casework

    • Cross-cultural sensitivity

    • Interest and alignment with SPI’s mission.

    • Required proficiency in English

    • Required proficiency in Arabic or Farsi.
