About The Role: The caseworker position is open to candidates with experience in social work/casework, of Greek citizenship or with authorization and experience working in Greece, who are passionate about LGBTQI+ rights and supporting asylum seekers & refugees through their application process, and integration process.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain weekly check-ins with your assigned members, 15 min - 1 hr sessions on average.
- Caseload is about 30 members
- Facilitate the transfer of information that will enable members to prepare relevant documentation and access specialised care
- Facilitate group meetings for house members on average, once per month
- Carry out risk assessment and make referrals when necessary, inform members of the existing provisions available to them and encourage them to explore and map external safe spaces
- Support and guide residents in their job search and in their housing search
- Coordinate with translators and cultural mediators as necessary
- Carry out crisis management and de-escalation techniques in special emergency situations
- Collaborate on data collection and mapping of structures and services for the target population.
- Ensure the confidentiality of all information of the members
- Promoting long-term strategy and problem/conflict resolution.
- Undertake other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Greek citizenship or eligible to work within the EU
Background in social work or counseling
Firm understanding of the asylum process in Greece
Experience in Casework
Cross-cultural sensitivity
Interest and alignment with SPI’s mission.
Required proficiency in English
Required proficiency in Arabic or Farsi.
