Every month we host a free public speaking tournament and essay contest on a different topic for any students (elementary, middle school, high school and college!). Please note this volunteer opportunity is for the Public Speaking (Video) competition. But you can sign up to Judge Essays on our other monthly volunteer opportunity! All students (K-College) are invited to participate. Please share the word as well! We invite all students (Elementary, Middle School, High School and College) in the United States to participate! Any student and family member can visit our website - www.greatdebatersonline.org for more information! Students submit either a written speech and/or video speech. Students submit either a written speech and/or video speech. We need judges to judge about 5-10 students each and provide written feedback on their video speeches. No speech or debate experience is required to be a judge. If you are interested in an orientation and training, our staff can provide any training at your convenience. The top student submissions will then compete in a "Final Round." All our student participants receive a certificate of participation and top students receive ribbons, medals, or trophies. This is an incredible program for youth because Public Speaking is one of the #1 fears but it is also one of the most critical skills for college, career and civic success. We need your help in empowering our future generations of leaders.

Our mission is that every student and every school should have access to speech and debate opportunities. All students are Great Debaters! THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR PROGRAM POSSIBLE. Our program is entirely free. We rely on incredible and inspirational volunteers like you to support students in developing their speech, debate and public speaking skills.

Mission Statement

Our mission is that every school and every student should have access to debate and public speaking opportunities. Speech and Debate are one of the most powerful academic programs to prepare students for college, career and civic success. Our program provides year round public speaking, speech and debate programs free for all students, all grade levels, and all schools. Every child can be a Great Debater!

Description

Study after study shows that Public Speaking, Debate, and Speech programs are life changing for students. Unfortunately, the majority of students do not have access to speech and debate programs. We were founded to change this. Every month we host a free online public speaking and speechwriting tournament on a different topic. Students in all grade levels (K-College) are invited to participate by submitting a written and/or video speech. Our incredible volunteers judge these speeches and provide valuable feedback for our students. At the end of the month we host an online awards ceremony to celebrate all our students. And the next month starts a new tournament!
