Construction Engineer - Job Description - Haiti Now

Ayiti Now Corp is a 501(c)(3) organization created for empowering marginalized children of poverty through our educational programs.

Scope of the work : Civil engineer with experience in Construction & Pricing Software for Cost of materials

"Your first assignment will be to start a fundraising campaign. Haiti Now will provide further guidance for you to have a quick and successful fundraiser."

Role brief: The Construction Engineer is a virtual volunteer position that works directly with the CEO and the Construction Project Manager to plan and work on a large residential commercial space.


Responsibilities:

Collaborating with construction team of project managers, engineers, etc. to determine the specifications or outline of the project
Evaluate construction design options including ventilation
Prepare architectural drawings to complete the design in REVIT/AUTOCAD
Convert any existing architectural drawings to REVIT/AUTOCAD
Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
Generate bills of materials
Collaborate with the Project Manager to create the AUTOCAD drawings and presentation
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Min 2 yrs experience as a Construction Engineer and Pricing Software for Cost of materials is must.
Minimum volunteer hours required: 7 - 10 hrs per week
In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
Familiarity with construction/ project management software like AUTOCAD/REVIT or similar
Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
A team player with leadership abilities
