Xavier Mission needs volunteers to help with vital services during COVID-19!
This shift requires volunteers to have their own mode of transportation (car/truck/van, motorcycle, etc). We suggest that all drivers bring a buddy to assist with the deliveries!
This shift will involve picking up pantry bags from Xavier Mission and delivering them to pantry guests around Manhattan (there are also a few locations in the Bronx and Brooklyn).
Volunteers will additional language skills are especially welcome!

COVID-19 Safety Precautions being taken to protect community, staff and volunteers:
- All volunteers must bring a face mask/shield
- Social distancing protocol will be implemented to the extent possible
- Gloves and hand sanitizer will be available to all volunteers
- PLEASE DO NOT COME TO VOLUNTEER IF YOU HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS OF ILLNESS
- New York State has cautioned anyone over 50 not to volunteer
- Please plan to be there for the entirety of the shift - coming in late or leaving early is disruptive and makes it difficult to achieve our goals

Mission Statement
HUNGER FREE AMERICA is a national nonprofit group building a nonpartisan, grassroots membership movement to enact the policies and programs needed to end domestic hunger and ensure that all Americans have sufficient access to nutritious food.
Description
HUNGER FREE AMERICA (formerly known as the New York City Coalition Against Hunger) is a national nonprofit group building a nonpartisan, grass-roots membership movement to enact the policies and programs needed to end domestic hunger and ensure that all Americans have sufficient access to nutritious food.
Our long-term goal is not just to ameliorate the problem, but also to build the people’s movement necessary to enact the economic and public policies needed to end hunger entirely. Given that hunger drains our economy and tears at our moral and civic fabric, we know that eliminating it will boost the nation both economically and spiritually. Towards that end, we’ve adopted the motto: "Ending hunger lifts us all."
